Who Are We?
-
The Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce is composed of community business and professional people working together to promote economic development, community improvement, and civic responsibility. The purpose of the Chamber is to facilitate service for development of the business, industrial, school and service community by working to ensure a healthy economy.
The Chamber is a voluntary organization which unites the efforts of all participating members to accomplish tasks that no single individual or business could do alone. This uniting of efforts is a vital feature of your Chamber.
Your Chamber of Commerce is the salesperson who represents our community and its businesses.

What does the chamber do?
The major responsibility of the Chamber is the community's economic well-being. This is accomplished by working to enhance community prosperity and by facilitating 1) the growth of existing business, and 2) the establishment of new ones. This wealth can then be directed toward establishing and improving civic, educational, and cultural activities. These improvements will create a more attractive community, and additional business and industry will follow.
The Chamber's functions include visiting new businesses, ribbon-cuttings, greeting visitors and tourists, serving as a central source of information about Cheraw and its businesses and services, providing resource information to Cheraw about local, State and Federal services and resources. More than this, the Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce serves as a catalyst - a common vehicle through which business and professional people work together for the common good of our community. A better community means better business and development conditions. In the final analysis, the principal reason for the Chamber to exist is to do whatever is necessary to keep Cheraw's economic conditions at a level where business will invest resources in anticipation of making a profit.
